Considering types of transfer from one airport to another it is always a question of money, time and comfort. More we spend faster we get there and in a comfortable limousine. Less money we have, longer the journey is and probably less ‘cosy’. I will start with the most comfortable option which is, in my opinion, the cheapest when three persons or more are considered to travel.

Private Transfer from Gatwick to Heathrow -TAXI

With three or more of you private transfer is the option to focus on. Transfers cost approx. 60-70GBP for up to 4passengers. It gets slightly more expensive for more passengers as bigger cars have to be used, but is still relatively cheap, even comparing it to coach prices, where for 5 of you you would have to pay 100GBP and would be traveling with 50 other people with no room for legs etc. It takes approx. an 1hour to get from Gatwick to Heathrow (transfer time depends on road traffic). Drivers wait for passengers at arrivals which helps a lot when you don’t know the airport, and saves precious time. You may want to get a quote and/or book private transfer Gatwick – Heathrow (taxi service).

Coach

There are number of coaches at Gatwick and AFAIR single ticket, one way is around 20GBP. It takes approx. 1hour 20 minutes from when you enter the bus to actualy get out of it at Terminal 1,2,3 at Heathrow. Long walks might be involved as it doesnt stop near terminals 3 or 2. It isn’t thet bad with terminal 3. Trouble is with terminal 4 and 5. If nothing has changed, you will probably need to get to another dedicated airport terminals transfer bus to get to numbers four or five. BTW terminal five despite some problems when first oppened is doing pretty well now. Quick customs, clean and spacious comparing to any of them.

Train

When traveling by train you first have to make it to London Centre/DownTown and then switch to underground service. The general rule is to get to Paddington Station where, again you switch to train to Heathrow. Then a short 10-15 minutes walk depends on terminal and you made it! You will need about two hours to make it through central London by train. And you will need approx. 20-30 pounds each for travel cards and train/rail tickets.

This is a newly opened hostel located on Hilton Street, Manchester. Nearest trains stops to the hotel are Piccadilly Station, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Salford Central and the closest airport is The Manchester Airport with only 15 minutes journey by train.

Many interesting tourist attractions and business places are easy to reach from The Hilton Chambers Hostel with Places like Nothern Quarter, Printworks, Piccadilly Gardens and Urbis among them. The Chinese Art Centre, The Richard Goodall Gallery, The Imperial War Museum, Museum of the Greater Manchester and the Rochdale Pioneers Museum are literally within the walking distance which make a suitable staying place for art lovers. Not much park and green area can be found around but The Piccadilly Garden perhaps compensates that shortage. Lots of restaurant and cafe’s are around the Hostel such as The Night and Day Cafe, The Odd Bar, The Soup Kitchen, The Simple and many more.

The Hilton Chambers has 32 Rooms that classifies it as not so big a hostel. It is a 3-star hostel with rates about £45 which is pretty good price considering the location.

Rooms have TVs and a 24-hour reception at the hotel at the guests’ service. The Hilton Chamber has been recommended for being close to Manchester Eye and Piccadilly train Station. Many also described it as a hostel that is much better than an equivalent hotel. The customer service, clean rooms and quality of food and above all the value received for money has been given thumbs up by many guests.
